As Uganda prepares to commemorate the World Tourism Day that will officially take place on the 27th September 2017 in Ssese Island, it is undeniable that this district is a medley of attractions which is why this year’s celebration was taken to the islands. Kalangala district is situated in Lake Victoria in the South-western side of Uganda and is made up of over 84 Islands (the Ssese Islands). The district is specifically found on Bugala Island-which is apparently the largest Island of all the 84 Islands and covers an area of 9067 square kilometers/3500 square miles and only 4.8% of the district is covered by land and the rest is covered by water. This remote district can only be accessed by ferry and the following are the magnificent attractions found within the district;
